Addressing our environmental impact

Whilst we operate in a service industry, with less physical impact on the environment than the product based world, we always try to do the least harm possible in and out of the workplace. We focus on the 4 R’s of Reduce, Reuse, Respect, Recycle.

100% of our office’s electricity comes from renewable sources such as wind, solar and biomass. It’s certified by Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGOs), which guarantees that for every unit of electricity used, a unit of renewable electricity is put into the grid by renewable generators in the UK.

All our data centres maximise renewable energy use when available then 100% match electricity consumption with renewable energy purchases.

In many data center regions today, renewable energy isn’t consistently available 24 hours a day. To address this, we buy a surplus of renewable energy in regions or hours when solar and wind power are abundant. On a global and annual basis, our renewable energy purchases zero out the entire carbon footprint of our electricity use. Our data centres have committed to fully decarbonize electricity supply by 2030 and operate on clean energy, every hour and in every region.

Giving back

On top of our efforts to use less, recycle more, cause less harm, we have also teamed up as an SAS 250 partner helping them with their fantastic efforts to tackle marine plastic pollution. They work on other issues too – climate change, water quality, coastal development, but plastic pollution is huge and needs a lot of attention. We’re proud to be a supporting partner to enable them to do this. The partnership makes perfect sense with our UK team all being water users/lovers and based close to the beachside town of Bournemouth.

B-Corporation assessment

We are currently undergoing B-Corporation assessment for 2021. We felt this was a perfect match for our values and forms part of our ongoing commitment to change and improve our social and environmental impacts.

The B Impact Assessment is the most credible tool a company can use to measure its impact on its workers, community, environment and customers.

Certifying as a B Corporation goes beyond a product or service certification. It is the only certification that measures a company’s entire social and environmental performance. From your supply chain and input materials to your charitable giving and employee benefits, B Corp Certification proves your business is meeting the highest standards of verified performance.

Positive impact is supported by transparency and accountability requirements.

Employment standards & supplier selection

We believe in fair rights for all, we operate a transparent fair equal opportunities recruitment process, we pay fair wages, support our supply chain in equal opportunities.

Juicy ensure slavery and human trafficking does not take place in any part of its business. All suppliers, contractors and other business partners will also be made aware of our zero tolerance approach to modern slavery and will be expected to adopt the same approach.

We make a conscious effort to select partners and suppliers that match our values. Where possible and relevant we undertake a personal visit to all key suppliers or subcontractors and undertake a due diligence process as part of selection.

Tracking, privacy & data

We prefer not to capture data on people unless we really need it to deliver our service. Whilst this isn’t the norm these days, we prefer it this way. In a world where so much of our activity is tracked, saved & analysed we felt we’d rather take the less is more approach.

We have destroyed all previous list data we have bought, preferring instead to focus on building our relationships personally and individually.

We do NOT keep, store, sell or transmit any personal data held for any of our clients apart from the purposes of performing our paid services. Whilst many companies loathed the idea of tighter data regulation, we loved it. We operate strict processes to anonymise or destroy data that is simply not needed any more. We store the least amount of information we can for the purposes of doing our job, that’s all.

We comply with all data protection & GDPR requirements. If you have any queries on how we use data please drop is a line using our contact form.
